Ali brings deep business and subject-matter expertise in the financial services industry with a primary focus on card issuing, merchant acquiring and emerging payments. As a consultant and senior advisor to executive management, Ali has directed and led over 100 high-impact strategy-to execution engagements across 20 countries (North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia) for leading banks, payments providers, processors, networks, startups and investment firms. He has successfully collaborated with senior teams and clients in the US and internationally to grow businesses, expand market share and profitability, drive innovation, improve operating performance, and increase shareholder value.
Prior to establishing Blue Leviathan, Ali served as a Director in the Financial Services Advisory practice at PwC where he led the expansion of the consulting footprint across North American card issuers. Previously Ali was an EVP at Speer & Associates, Inc., a boutique management consulting firm where he led retail banking and payments engagements on a global basis. Before moving into consulting Ali held senior leadership positions in retail banking and the card / merchant business with Mashreq (Dubai, UAE) and Irving Bank Corporation (NY).
Ali received a BA in Economics from Reed College.
